Our trip into the delightful and perhaps under-rated countries of Essex and Suffolk, we enjoy picturesque villages, one of our most recognisable scenes painted by an artist, fascinating boat trip and a cuppa at Dick Turpin’s Birthplace.
The Crowne Plaza Five Lakes Hotel is in Maldon near Colchester, which has leisure facilities available for guests. An ideal base for our excursions during the week.
Excursions during your stay included a visit to Flatford Mill, which is the site of Constable’s Haywain painting and Colchester and its Castle. We travel through Essex to Finchingfield and Hempstead, for a break at Dick Turpin’s birthplace, then onto bury St. Edmunds and Lavenham. The historic maritime town of Hawich is our destination for your boat trip around the harbour to Felixstowe.
