We travel to Leeds via Skipton taking in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside before heading into Yorkshire and our Hotel for the weekend. On Saturday, after breakfast you have the morning to yourselves in Leeds before the matinee performance of the show at The Varieties Music Hall of “Good Old Days”. “The long-running and popular BBC television programme The Good Old Days was filmed at Leeds City Varieties Music Hall from 1953 to 1983. The show involved the audience dressing up in Victorian garb for a good old-fashioned knees-up with big name stars such as Les Dawson, Barbara Windsor, Jimmy Tarbuck, Val Doonican and Barry Cryer.”
Monday 13th April 2020 to Friday 17th April 2020
Our base will be the excellent Metropole Hotel, it has the highest AA rated Hotel and Spa in Mid Wales. Whilst there you can gain access to the spa and leisure facilities at the Hotel, including the Rock swimming pool and gym. During your stay there will be a guided tour of Abbey Cwm Hir Hall given by the owners, it is a very quirky Gothic property. All rooms are fully carpeted, and the owners ask you to remove your outdoor shoes. After your tour there will be time to explore the beautiful gardens, weather permitting. Another day there will be a steam train ride from Aberystwyth to Devil’s Bridge with free time in the seaside town before getting aboard the steam train to travel though the breath-taking Vale of Rheidol. A visit to the Brecon National Park with a relaxing cruise through a lock and over an aqueduct on the historical Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal.

A return visit to The Langstone Hotel, Hayling Island for 2020. The Hotel is perfectly placed overlooking the Langstone and Chichester Harbour and has excellent leisure facilities, so make sure you make use of the swimming pool and sauna. There are ground floor rooms available as there is no lift. During your stay there will be a full day in Portsmouth with an all attractions ticket for the Historic Dockyards (except the Mary Rose Exhibition), a guided tour of the picturesque South Downs and a visit to Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre.

Heading North we shall have a comfort stop at Moffatt en-route to Ardrossan to catch the ferry over the Firth of Clyde to Brodick on the beautiful Isle of Arran. Scotland’s most southern holiday Isle, with beautiful scenery, unique culture and long history of spiritual importance. It is an appealing contrast to the mountains and lochs to the north and rolling green hills and meadows to the south. Arran is surrounded by a stunning coastline, where the emphasis is on relaxation and rest. The Holiday includes a circular tour of the enchanting island with a local guide. We have a day out in Brodick visiting the Castle and some free time in the town to explore at your own pace. Finally, we have an excursion to the Arran Heritage Museum in the morning and Arran Distillery in the afternoon. Very limited number of single rooms available

It has been many years since we last visited Ilfracombe and we are using The Carlton Hotel, a Hotel we successfully visited in 2019 with a private group. It is within easy walking distance of the seafront, harbour and High street. During our stay, there will be day excursion to Arlington Court, which is a neoclassical style house owned by the National Trust. A trip to Barnstaple with time for lunch, then onto Clovelly Village a step back in time, with its cobbled streets and many listed buildings. The village has been privately owned for over 800 years. We shall have a morning visit to Tavistock on market day followed by a drive over Dartmoor to enjoy the bleak scenery and entry into the Prison Museum, Princetown. On your free day you could take a ferry over to Lundy Island at an additional cost or just enjoy Ilfracombe
Friday 17th July 2020 to Monday 20th July 2020
Paul will once again be taking us on our annual holiday to Llandudno based at the Kensington Hotel, which we have been visiting for over 30 years now. Depending on the weather we will stop en-route or if the sun is shining, we will go straight to Llandudno to enjoy the glorious North Wales summer. Saturday is a free day in Llandudno for you to explore all this seaside resort has to offer. Enjoy the shopping on Mostyn Street, take in the beautiful scenery from on top of the Great Orme via the cable cars or tram. Personally, I could recommend getting onto the open top red buses which provide a hop on hop off service around Llandudno and Conway. On board they offer an invaluable insight into the area. On Sunday we have a full day excursion to the breath-taking village of Portmerion. Designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village. We return home via Chester for lunch and a look around the city.

Regular customers have been asking for a holiday on the Isle of Wight for a few years now. In 2020 we return to this beautiful isle with its picturesque scenery and laid back lifestyle. Travel down to Southampton with a suitable lunch stop before boarding an afternoon ferry to the Isle of Wight Staying at the Ocean View Hotel, Shanklin which has some wonderful views over the English Channel. The hotel has full leisure facilities including swimming pool. During our stay there will be around the Island tour, wine tasting at The Rosemary Vineyard, a visit to the beautiful Botanical Gardens at Ventnor, a walk around Osbourne House and a free day for you to explore the area at your own pace or just enjoy the facilities available in the hotel. We return to the Best Western Palace Hotel with its prime seafront location for our 2020 visit to the Isle of Man. The hotel has full leisure facilities and an on-site casino for those who fancy a little flutter! Travelling to Heysham for the lunchtime ferry to Douglas arriving early evening at the hotel. During our stay there will be a full day tour of the island with a local guide. Another excursion will see us travel on the Manx Electric Railway from Douglas to Laxey and then on the Snaefell Mountain Railway to the top of Snaefell where on a clear day it is rumoured you can see Blackpool Tower and a steam train ride from Douglas to Port Erin across the length of the Isle. Finally a free day in Douglas. We leave early on Friday morning for the ferry to Heysham and then make our way back home.

We have visited the Wensum Valley Hotel on numerous occasions successfully. The hotel has full leisure facilities including swimming pool and prides itself on its food that is freshly prepared by a talented team of chefs with local produce wherever possible. During your stay there will be excursions to Sandringham, the favourite retreat of Her Majesty the Queen. A trip to Thursford (home of the Christmas Spectacular) where you can relax and listen to the talented organist. See an amazing collection of steam vehicles and old fashioned merry-go-round for the braver amongst us and a behind the scenes tour of the Christmas Spectacular Show. A leisurely cruise on the Norfolk Broads where stars like George Formby made their home and the ghost of his famous ukulele can still be heard drifting across the water on quiet days playing ‘When I’m Cleaning Windows.’ The final visit will be to the city of Norwich, with its wonderful cathedral and excellent shopping.

This year we will making a journey north to witness the spectacular Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle. Departing approximately 0900 we will stop for coffee before continuing to the Falkirk Wheel. A rotating boat lift in central Scotland that connects the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. The Falkirk Wheel is the only rotating boat lift of its kind in the world and is a remarkable feat of engineering. We will arrive at the Golden Lion in time for dinner. There will be a leisurely Saturday morning in Stirling, with lunch at the hotel before we journey to Edinburgh for the famous military Tattoo and firework display. A show that amazes year on year. After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel we will return home with suitable stops arriving home later afternoon. Please note that one night will be dinner, bed and breakfast and then lunch, bed and breakfast to attend the tattoo.

The jewel in Devon’s crown and one of the best seaside resorts in Britain. With its bustling atmosphere, it is a great place for a seaside break. Based at the Derwent Hotel which is located less than 5 minutes from Torquay’s seafront. The Hotel offers family friendly accommodation with a luxury spa, leisure complex, gym and an outdoor pool. The breakfast and dinner meal are based on a buffet style servery for you to pick and choose whatever you like, also there will be lively nightly entertainment. Take a wonderful circular boat trip (starts in and returns to Dartmouth) viewing Kingswear and Dartmouth Castles, Britannia Royal Naval College, Sir Walter Raleigh's Boathouse and The Estate of the late Dame Agatha Christie. A day in the Naval city of Plymouth, walk to the top of Plymouth Hoe and enjoy the amazing view and a free day in Torquay.

Catching a mid afternoon ferry from Holyhead to our destination is The Arklow Bay Hotel, situated on the outskirts of the town of Arklow and set within beautiful grounds. The Hotel has a separate building for leisure facilities, which include sauna, jacuzzi, steam and pool. During the holiday there will be excursions which include, The Powerscourt Estate Gardens and Waterfall, which was used as a backdrop for the 2002 version of ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’. A trip to The Irish National Stud with its Japanese Gardens, described as the finest Japanese Gardens in Europe. Enjoy a guided tour of Wicklow Mountains and the Vale of Avoca. The town of Avoca was used to film the BBC series ‘Ballykissangel’. Catching the afternoon ferry on Thursday, arriving back home about 6pm

It’s been a few years since we spent time at St. Anne’s. The Lindum has had new owners and new investment but sadly they have lost that amazing ‘dessert table’. During the stay we travel to see the Autumn colours of the Lake District, around Bowness and Grassmere. You will have time in Cleveleys and Blackpool which have both had millions of pounds spent on their Promenades and seafronts. One evening you will be treated to an outing though the spectacular Blackpool Illuminations. One day will be an excursion trip inland to Skipton Market for a change of scenery and an opportunity to shop or visit the picturesque Castle.

Paul’s annual Autumn Tint tour to Llandudno is returning to the excellent Kensington Hotel. Outward to Llandudno we will travel via the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre for. The Shire Horse Centre has lots to see and do to make your visit interesting and enjoyable. You can learn all about the Shire horse, from its history carrying knights in armour to the important studwork today, ensuring the future of this magnificent breed. On Saturday there is an opportunity to see the Autumn Tints of Snowdonia, with a scenic tour of the mountains. No trip to Llandudno would be complete without a visit to the Edinburgh Woollen Mill at Lanfair-PG on Sunday. Returning home, we will stop at St. Asaph Tweedmill for lunch or a chance to browse the store.

We return to the always excellent New Wilmington for a ‘Mistletoe and Wine’ themed long weekend pre Christmas break. This holiday has a full Christmas program packed with entertainment and great food in the newly refurbished restaurant complete with new chef. Christmas Eve begins at 6pm with a complimentary glass of Mulled Wine in the Mulberry Bar. Christmas Day starts at 4pm, with Bingo in the Bar, followed by Christmas Dinner in the Mulberry Restaurant and live entertainment thought the evening. New Year’s Day has a Sunday carvery 12:30 to 5:00, live entertainment in the evening and at 10.30 the singing of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ and sausage roll to complete the festive celebrations. There will be one full day excursion and one day in resort. We will try to make the day trip weather appropriate. (Sorry No hot drinks serviced with Dinner.)

Join us for our 5017 trip (approximately) to the Thursford Music Spectacular and our base will again be the excellent Wensum Valley Hotel The show changes dramatically each year and people return time after time to marvel at the fabulous costumes, dancing and music. We will travel to the Wensum Valley via Springfields shopping outlet in Spalding and return home via Grantham. We are hoping to get Matinee tickets for the show, with some of the best seats in the house. Before the Show you will have a morning in the seaside town of Sheringham.

We travel southbound via Oxford Christmas Market to grab a few Christmas bargains. On Monday we have a full day at Longleat stately home and for 2020 we invite you to join us on a thrilling odyssey as myths and legends from across the world are brought to life. Filled with extraordinary creatures, ancient deities, magnificent scenery and stunning structures. Don't miss the most amazing adventure of them all and look out for the singing Christmas Tree. On the return home we are stopping at Webbs of Wychbold Garden Centre for some final Christmas trinkets.
